On 19th May, around 2:30 a.m. He alleged to have driven the Porsche at a speed of 150 kph in Kalyani Nagar, Pune where it met with the accident. This led to the death of two IT professionals who were returning after having a good time at a restaurant.
He had charged under sections 338,337,304-A AND 427 of the IPC sections. After the accident, a video of the alleged went viral on the internet drinking alcohol such as Beer and Vodka at a Bar. He caught by authorities on the same day.
Rumours sparked that he was given good treatment in the prison and his lawyer said that Vedant might be suffering from depression. After some time, he was granted bail just within 15 hours on the condition of writing an essay about “The Effects of Road Accidents”. His aunt filed a habeas corpus to the High Court of Bombay but the High Court proved that plea was not legal.
